These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Walnut mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

1. Overview of the Services

Walnut is a relationship wellness and conscious dating platform providing educational content, self-reflection tools, AI-powered guidance, compatibility features, and optional dating and matching functionality. Walnut provides tools for discovery, awareness, and communication but does not guarantee matches, relationships, or outcomes.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

3. Account Registration and Security

  • You must create an account to use certain features.

  • You agree to provide accurate, truthful, and complete information.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

 

4. Dating, Matching, and Compatibility Disclaimer

  • Walnut may offer swipe-based matching, compatibility scores, and profile discovery tools.

  • Walnut does not guarantee that you will find a match, partner, or relationship.

  • Walnut does not verify or guarantee the identity, intentions, or behavior of other users.

  • Walnut is not responsible for interactions, communications, or outcomes between users, whether online or offline.

  • You acknowledge that dating involves inherent risks, including emotional harm, misrepresentation, and physical risk.

  • You agree to use caution when interacting with other users and meeting in person.

 

5. Subscriptions, Payments, and Refunds

  • Some features require a paid subscription.

  • Subscription pricing, billing cycles, and renewal terms will be disclosed in-app.

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled prior to renewal.

  • Refunds are governed by Apple App Store / Google Play policies and applicable law.

 

6. User Conduct and Community Standards

You agree to use the Services respectfully and lawfully. You agree not to:

  • Harass, stalk, threaten, or harm others.

  • Request money, gifts, financial assistance, investments, or any form of payment from other users.

  • Engage in fraud, scams, romance scams, or deceptive practices.

  • Misrepresent your identity, age, intentions, relationship status, or profile information.

  • Impersonate any person, company, or organization.

  • Post illegal, abusive, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or exploitative content.

  • Use the Services for commercial solicitation, escorting, or transactional relationships.

  • Share another person’s personal or confidential information without consent.

  • Attempt to hack, scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Services.

Walnut may remove content, restrict features, suspend, or terminate accounts for violations.

 

7. User Content and Reflections

  • Users may submit journal entries, reflections, responses, and profile information ("User Content").

  • Users retain ownership of their User Content.

  • Users grant Walnut a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display User Content solely to operate and improve the Services.

  • Walnut does not claim any royalty-free commercial license over user journals or reflections.

  • Only authorized therapists, coaches, and experts engaged by Walnut may upload educational content.

 

8. Messaging and Encryption

  • User-to-user chats are encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard security protocols.

  • No system is perfectly secure, and Walnut cannot guarantee absolute security.

 

9. AI and Educational Disclaimer

  • Walnut provides educational and wellness content, not therapy, medical, or legal advice.

  • AI-generated outputs are informational only and may be inaccurate or incomplete.

  • Walnut does not establish a therapist-client or doctor-patient relationship.

 

10. Intellectual Property

  • All Walnut software, content, trademarks, and materials are owned by The Relationship Lab Ltd or its licensors.

  • You may not copy, modify, distribute, or exploit Walnut’s proprietary materials without permission.

 

11. Termination

Walnut may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or misuse of the Services. You may stop using the Services at any time.

 

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. Walnut does not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

 

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Walnut is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services, including user interactions or dating outcomes.

 

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Walnut from claims arising from your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.

 

15. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration (US Users)

Where permitted by law, disputes may be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in class actions or class-wide arbitration.

 

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.

 

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
